At 6’8” Nicolai Des Coudres could have been a basketballer. Instead, this Hamburg native chose to study banking and communications. In 1996 he decided to make his passion his work, moving from the office to the stage. Since then one question has been asked of him to this day: What is the right pronunciation of your name, anyway? La Sagne in western Switzerland is the place of origin of the Des Coudres family, the German branch of which took up residence in Hesse some 300 years ago. Today, Nicolai Des Coudres manages his family’s archives and involves himself in presenting and achieving public recognition for the artistic heritage of his ancestors.
